A ship arrives at Nouakchott Port Carrying (20) Thousands Sacrificial Meat to Be Distributed Among Poor in Mauritania and Senegal
Jeddah: 07- 02-2011: In the frame work of The Saudi Project for Utilizing of Hajj Meat, managed by IDB, meat distribution is to continue among poor in Makkah. It is also distributed through charitable organizations in Makkah, Madinah and the rest of cities and regions in the Kingdom according to the Distribution Plan approved in 1431H, which requires distributing Hajj meat among poor in Makkah and to about (270) charitable organizations in all regions of Saudi Arabia.
H.E. Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, the President of IDB, stated that based on the same mentioned plan, quantities of Hajj Meat will be distributed, Allah willing, among poor and needy in (24) countries in Asia and Africa.
In this context, a ship sailed last month form Jeddah Islamic Port has recently arrived at Nouakchott port. The ship carried ten thousands frozen sacrificial meat to be distributed among poor in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. A mission from the IDB has arrived at Mauritania to oversee the distribution process.
It is planned that the ship will continue its journey towards Dakar, the capital city of Senegal, to distribute ten thousands frozen sacrificial meet among needy in the Republic of Senegal. The arrival of the ship at Dakar port is expected to be on 18th February, 2011.
Another ship sailed from Jeddah Islamic Airport last Tuesday to the Republic of Bangladesh, carrying (60) thousands frozen sacrificial meat. The ship is expected to reach at Chittagong port February, 12, 2011.
The President of the IDB, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness Crown Prince, and Saudi Government for the generous and continuous support for this enormous Islamic project, which enabled millions of needy benefitting from sacrificial meet, achieving by that the divine wisdom of this great ritual.
