Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 19.05.2013 - The 290th session of the IDB Board of Executive Directors started Sunday at Kokhi Somon Palace in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan under the Chairmanship of the President of IDB Group, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, as part of the events taking place concomitantly with the 38th Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the IDB Group expressed in his statement gratitude and appreciation to the president, government and people of the Republic of Tajikistan for hosting the 38th Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors, scheduled to take place on Tuesday-Wednesday, 11-12 Rajab, 1434H (21-22 May 2013) in Dushanbe under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomalii Rahmon with Ministers of Finance, Economic Affairs and Planning
of 56 IDB member countries attending.

The President of the IDB Group applauded the solid cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the IDB Group. He also expressed gratitude and appreciation for the excellent arrangements made by the competent authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan in order to ensure a successful outcome to this important meeting and the other events organized on its sidelines.

The agenda of the session of the IDB Board of Executive Directors comprises a report on matters relating to the 38th Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors, administrative and technical matters and new allocations designed to help finance development projects in a number of member countries and Muslim communities in non-member countries.

The Board of Executive Directors will continue meeting until the proceedings of the Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors are concluded.
