Uganda National Education Support Project
The objective of the project is to contribute towards the Education Sector Strategic Plan related to improving access and quality of vocational/technical education at tertiary level through the expansion and upgrading of three existing Ugandan Technical Colleges (UTCs); and strengthening of capacity for improved vocational/technical education at UTCs.
The project has contributed to enhance access to technical and vocational training in Uganda by increasing student enrolment in the colleges and providing relevant skills and competencies for youth employability. The project also contributed towards enhancing the learning environment including setting up physical infrastructure to enhance the learning environment along with the capacity building. The physical infrastructure also included commissioning of four student hostels, and this has positively impacted on female enrolment. Three Higher National Diploma programmes were developed and are being actively used in five Technical Colleges
