KLCoE Engages in Collaborative Talks with the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 19th January 2024 – A delegation from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB)’s Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur (KLCoE), led by the Head of KLCoE, Mr. Samer Elesawi, visited Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER). The visit was received by Dato’ Seri Dr Hamzah Kassim, one of the Board Members of MIER.
MIER was established in 1986 as an independent, non-profit organization that serves as a think-tank for the government and the private sector. As one of the leading economic research institutes in the country, their operations are partially funded by the Government of Malaysia.
During the visit, both parties exchanged views and constructive ideas in enhancing the existing cooperation between IsDB and Malaysia and supporting the economic growth of IsDB Member Countries. Several potential areas of collaboration were explored, among others: capacity building for IsDB Member countries in the area of economic transformation and privatization, as well as research.
