1. The Government of Uganda (GoU) has received a credit from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in US$ currency towards the cost of CONSTRUCTION OF 132kV TRANSMISSION LINE AND DISTRIBUTION Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this credit will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Plant Design, Supply and Installation of “Lot-2: 220/132/33kV Mirama S/S-Ext and 132/33kV Kabale S/S-New (Re-Tender)”.
2. The Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of Plant Design, Supply and Installation of 220/132/33kV Mirama S/S-Ext and 132/33kV Kabale S/S-New (“the Facilities”). The contract is organized into one lot as detailed below:

Design, supply, installation, testing and Commissioning of the proposed Kabale 132/33kV new Substation including six 132kV bays, two power transformers, etc.

Design, supply, installation, testing and Commissioning of two 132kV extension bays at Mirama 22/132/33kV Substation including the bus bars extension, etc.
International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank's “Single-Stage” Bidding Procedure.

4. A complete set of bidding documents must be purchased by interested Bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX 300,000 (Uganda Shillings Three Hundred Thousand) or USD 80 (Eighty US Dollars). The method of payment shall be cash at the Cashier’s office at address given in 7 or by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to UETCL’s Account, which shall be provided upon receipt of a written request. The document may also be sent by courier services to those who are out of the country and request the documents to be sent to them subject to the bidder meeting the cost for delivery services. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
5. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the Bank Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Plant Design, Supply and Installation.
6. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 11:00 hours on 08th January, 2020 and must be accompanied by the bid security.
Note: Bids should be accompanied by a copy of the receipt for the purchase of the Bidding Documents. Only bids with receipt of the purchase in the name of the Bidder will be accepted.
7. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 11:15 hours on 08th January, 2020 at the offices in N0.3 above
8. Bids should be valid up to 1st July, 2020 whereas bid security shall be valid until 10th August 2020.
