ARAB PEPUBLIC OF EGYPT REHABILITATION OF IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE PUMPING STATIONS PROJECT Agriculture / Water Resources GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Mode of Financing: Leasing Financing No. EGY - 0107 The Arab Republic of Egypt has received financing in the amount of USD 109.950 million equivalent from the Islamic Development Bank toward the cost of the Rehabilitation of Irrigation and Drainage Pumping Stations Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, and related services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Government of Egypt. The project goal is to contribute to the increase of agricultural productivity and livelihoods in the project area and to ensure sustainable water resources management in the regions of Egypt, through rehabilitation and construction, as well as acquisition and installation of equipment in the 32 pumping stations. The following contract/packages are expected to be procured under the project: A. PROCUREMENT OF GOODS AND WORKS 1. Rehabilitation and New Construction of 32 Pumping Stations 1.1. Pumping Stations of Beheira and Alexandria (8 PS) 1.2. Pumping Stations of Sweif and Al Feyoum (7 PS) 1.3. Pumping Stations of Aswan and Luxor (7 PS) 1.4. Pumping Stations of Sohag and Qena (4 PS) 1.5. Pumping Stations of K. El Sheikh, Demiatta and Sharkia (3 PS) 1.6. Pumping Stations of Sinai and Suez (3 PS) 2. Supply of Spare Parts and Equipment 2.1. Supply of (50) Electric Motors 2.2. Supply of (6) Emergency Mobile Pumping Units 2.3. Supply of (10) Weed Screen Cleaning Machines 2.4. Supply of (15) Pickup Trucks Procurement Method – International Competitive Bidding. B. PROCUREMENT OF SERVICES Project Financial Audit, Procurement Method – Least Cost Selection from Shortlist of National Audit Firm. Procurement of contracts financed by the Islamic Development Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the Guidelines for Procurement of Goods and Works under Islamic Development Bank Financing (May 2009), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the Guidelines for the Use of Consultants under Islamic Development Bank Financing (May 2009). Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the Islamic Development Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) and shortlisting of national audit firm procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in IsDB Website and in El-Ahram , El Akhbar local newspapers and Asharq Al-Awsat as international newspaper and other media. Prequalification of suppliers and contractors will be required for the following contracts: 1. Rehabilitation and New Construction of 32 Pumping Stations 1.1.
