1. The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has received a financing from the Islamic Development Bank towards the cost of Dushanbe Water Supply Project and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for Package – 4. Bidding is open to all bidders from Member Countries as defined in the Guidelines for the Procurement of Goods and Works under IDB financing. 2. The Project Management Unit, (SUE) Dushanbe Vodokanal, of the Dushanbe Water Supply Project invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of two 820 mm diameter pipe crossing arrangement across the Kafernigan River, the cleaning of 9 existing 630 mm diameter wells and their equipment with submersible pumps and the drilling of a new equipped borehole, the laying of 1,200 mm diameter pipe, and the construction of a protection dam (length 1.0 Km), and of electrical substations and other electrical works. The construction period is 18 months. 3. Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased at the address given below (a) for a nonrefundable fee of US$ 200.00 (United States Dollar Two Hundred) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency, for each set, in cash or transfer to the Bank Account indicated below (b). Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same address (a) during working days from 09:00 AM to 16:00 PM. 4. Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 days after Bid opening and must be accompanied by a bid security of US$ 80,000.00 (Eighty Thousand) or its equivalent in a convertible currency, and shall be delivered to the following address (a) at or before 16:00 PM, October 31, 2008 at which time they will be opened in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend. 5.
