SPECIAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Republic of Uzbekistan IDB Financing No. UZB-045 Rehabilitation of Irrigation and Drainage Networks in Djizzakh and Syrdarya Provinces Project The Republic of Uzbekistan has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of Rehabilitation of Irrigation and Drainage Networks in Djizzakh and Syrdarya Provinces Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract for construction of the pump station No:3 of which a summary of works are given below. The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for RIDNDS/ICB/DZ-1. The project, in general covers construction and rehabilitation works for existing irrigation and drainage networks. The first contract RIDNDS/ICB/DZ-1 mainly covers the construction of pump station PS-3 located in Djizzakh province near the city of Dostlik and connected to Tashkent with 350km long state highway. Pump station PS-3 takes place at the end of conveyance canal M-2 to be constructed. The first contract RIDNDS/ICB/DZ-1 has the following main work items: • construction of a concrete lined trapezoidal approach canal having plan area of about 950m2; • construction of six reinforced concrete suction chambers each having 3.5m width and 7.6m height; • construction of an irrigation pump station building having about 145m2 office area and 600m2 pump station area with two floors; • construction of six steel suction pipes with 1400mm diameter and six steel discharge pipes with 1200mm diameter and 150m length; • construction of six pump units (main characteristics of each pump unit are 3.6m3/s discharge capacity, 700kW power and 1m lifting height); • pomp motors having max speed of 500 rpm and power rating of 700 kW. • construction of switchyard for the pump station (110/6kV and 6300kVA); and • construction of energy power line having a length of about 300m to supply energy to the pump station. Construction period is expected be around 18 months. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the Guidelines for Procurement of Goods and Works under IDB Financing, May 2009 and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in these Guidelines. This bidding will be an open-ICB, thus will be open to contractors from non-member countries of IDB. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Project Management Unit and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 10:00 to 17:00 Tashkent time. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee US$ 300 (Three hundred US Dollars) or in equivalent amount in UZS at the exchange rate of Central Bank of Republic of Uzbekistan at the payment date. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of US$ 250 000 (Two hundred fifty thousand US Dollars) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected.
